There are many people who are millionaires, some people who are billionaires and lots of people who could be.

I have 3 questions.

What is money?

How do you obtain money?

What should you do with money?

So, what is money? I like to think of money as something made up, I mean, it is a resource, but it's a man made resource. You can't directly mine money from the ground like gold or oil, it has no great use but for the trade of one thing for another. Perhaps the true question is, if money became obsolete today, could you still survive?

That question is actually answered with this question. How do you obtain money? There are many different ways to obtain money, but this is important. Working on a job will earn you security now, working on yourself will earn you security for a lifetime. This is to say that though some rich people may never recover if money were to become obsolete, many would still come to live as they lived, because they understand it isn't about money, it's about them.

This isn't to say that if a man isn't rich he has poor character, or hasn't worked on himself, because remember, money isn't the object, money is the illusion. Besides that, I would call no man poor who has this understanding, to live within the means he has created for himself and his family. Because no matter the dollar amount anyone makes, if they live outside their means, they are still poor.

This pulls us into the last question, what should you do with money? In the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad, Robert Kiyosaki says to 'Mind your own business' and by this he means to keep something on the side to make passive money with. Also, charity is huge, this really helps to keep your mind focused on what money really is, giving is a great thing and people benefit from it, but I believe the biggest gain is yours. The hardest bump in the road is when you see money as only a resource to buy with and not to invest with. When buying is the only thing you know what to do with money, that is all you will do and money is no longer an illusion, it becomes a strong reality that will never leave you alone.

Truly all I can see that money really is, is a measure of character. Again, not by the amount you make, but by what you do with the amount you have.
